by my website. Although I usually let my satisfied customers and word of mouth do the talking, I am glad you came by. My name
is Ken Berling and I have been in the graphics industry for nearly 40 years. I started out working at a print shop in 1969
pouring metal ingots for the old linotype machines at the ripe old age of 14. I was always fascinated with printing and the
different sizes and styles of type faces.
I worked for a typesetting service for 9 years in Southern California before
moving to beautiful Northern California in 1979. I held various postions at the typesetting service. I did paste-up, camera
work and ran the photo-typositor. I even worked the service desk marking up copy to be typset and identified over 400 fonts.
These job tasks were eventually replaced by the computer. I remember the first typesetting computers were the size of a refrigerator.
I
worked for a few shops in Sacramento before finally starting Sign Solutions. As well as working with offset printing, I also
worked in the screen printing industry and learned how to make signs. On August 15, 1990 in a small space in a warehouse in
Rancho Cordova, Sign Solutions was born....and believe it or not, many of those first customers are still customers today!
